Decision-making on the purchase of an information system for an enterprise

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se zabývá procesem výběru informačního systému / aplikací v segmentu malých a středních podniků. V teoretické části je pozornost věnována tématu podniku a aspektům, které významně ovlivňují jeho fungování a rozhodování a mají vliv i na předmět této práce. Jedná se zejména o velikost podniku, organizační strukturu vč. pozice IT oddělení i role pracovníků, jejich kompetencí a vzájemných vazeb. V další části jsou přiblíženy pojmy a koncepty z oblasti podnikové informatiky. Na základě poznatků z odborné literatury a kombinace pohledu uživatelů (dotazníkové šetření) s pohledem managementu MSP a expertů (rozhovory) je sestaven normativní model výběru informačního systému v segmentu malých a středních podniků, jehož sestavení má přispět k lepší orientaci managementu MSP v dané problematice, efektivnějšímu a rychlejšímu výběru informačních systémů a pomoci předejít mnoha zbytečným chybám a případným finančním ztrátám.

Abstract:

This dissertation thesis concerns with the selection process of an information system / applications in small and medium enterprises. In the theoretical part, the focus is on the enterprise and aspects that significantly affect its functioning and decision-making and also have influence on the subject of this work. These include the enterprise size, organizational structure, incl. IT department position and the role of employees, their competences and interactions. In the following part, terms and concepts from the field of business informatics are described. Based on the literature and a combination of users' views (survey) with the management of small and medium enterprises and experts perspectives (interviews), a normative model of selection of an information system in small and medium enterprises has been set up, which aims to contribute to better orientation of the management of SMEs in the issue, to more efficient and faster selection of information systems and help prevent many unnecessary errors and potential financial losses.
