Contemporary Brno theatre poster 2000–2013: formal and content aspects with permanent regard to humor, playfulness and ornament

Abstract:

Práce Současný brněnský divadelní plakát 2000–2013: formální a obsahové aspekty se stálým zřetelem k humoru, hravosti a ornamentu si vytkla za cíl aplikovat metody ruského formalismu na současnou plakátovou tvorbu sedmi vybraných brněnských divadel. Nejprve přiblížíme styl plakátové tvorby jednotlivých brněnských divadel mezi léty 2000–2013. Nalezneme a popíšeme charakteristické rysy, které v tvorbě plakátů převládají a vyzdvihneme práce, jejichž součástí jsou prvky humoru, hravosti či ornamentu. Současně se pokusíme na tyto plakáty a jejich dílčí prvky aplikovat metody ruských formalistů. Uplatníme především terminologii V. B. Šklovského. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda lze použít metody, jenž původně zkoumaly vztah mezi formou a obsahem literárních děl, též při analýze děl užitého umění, konkrétně plakátů.

Abstract:

Work Contemporary Brno theatre poster 2000–2013: formal and content aspects with permanent regard to humor, playfulness and ornament has as its aim to use the methods of russian formalism to contemporary poster creation of seven Brno theaters. At first we approximate the style of poster creation of individual Brno theaters between years 2000–2013. We will find and describe characteristic features, which are prevailing in poster creation and we will focus on works of which constituent part are elements of humor, playfulness or ornament. Concurrently, we will try to use methods of russian formalism to this posters and their fractional elements. Especially, we will use the terminology of V. B. Šklovskij. Aim of this work is find out, if it is possible to use these methods, which were at first invented to examine relationship between form and content of literary works, as well as a tool for analysis of works of applied arts, specifically posters.
