Tabloid strategies in selected television news casts: comparative content analysis of Televizní noviny, Zprávy televize Prima a Událostí

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na porovnání míry bulvarizace a způsobů užívání jejich prvků, v rámci tří hlavních televizních zpravodajství. Jedná se o komerční relace nazvané Televizní noviny a Zprávy televize Prima, televizních stanic Nova a Prima. „Protipólem“pro komparaci se staly Události, které jsou hlavním zpravodajským pořadem veřejnoprávní České televize. Hlavním záměrem práce je zjištění a popsání existence podobností v užívání editoriálně bulvarizačních strategií, v komerčním a veřejnoprávním zpravodajství. Práce je jednorázovým aktuálním pohledem na mediální scénu. Teoretickými východisky jsou mnohé koncepty mediálních odborníků, přičemž nejvýrazněji jsou zde zastoupeny myšlenky z díla Colina Sparkse Tabloid tales- global debates over media standards z roku 2000. Užitou výzkumnou metodou je obsahová kvantitativní a komparativní analýza, s jejíž pomocí byla zpracována sebraná data. Interpretaci finálních zjištění jsme koordinovali na základě předem stanovených šestnácti pracovních hypotéz. Ty pak souvisejí s konceptem bulvarizace televizního zpravodajství a podobností jeho užívání komerčními a veřejnoprávním médiem. Závěrečným zjištěním analýzy dat je, že sledovaná hlavní zpravodajství tří televizních stanic, v mnoha zkoumaných aspektech, užívala velice podobné míry bulvarizace. Výzkum tedy potvrdil domněnku o existenci podobností práce s konceptem bulvarizace a užívání jeho prvků ve zpravodajských relacích komerčních i veřejnoprávní televize.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on a convergence of measure of tabloidisation and methodes of using its elements within three main newcasts. We work with commercial ones Televizní noviny and Zprávy televize Prima, programmes which comes from television Nova and Prima. The antipole of these is Události which is the main news programme of the statutory television Česká televize. The principal intention of this thesis is detection and description of existing similarities in using editorial and tabloidisation practices, in the chosen comercial and the statutory main news programmes. The thesis is a short term look in the mass media scene. A theoretical key point of the thesis are different concepts of some media specialists whereas expressively are used ideas of the piece called Tabloid tales- global debates over media standards from Collin Sparks (2000). An applied research methode is a content comparative analysis. The interpretation of the final findings we coordinated in terms of sixteen working hypothesis which relate with the tabloidisation concept and conformities of its using by the commercial ones and the statutory televisions. The closing recognitions of the data analysis are- the chosen main news programmes, in many aspects, used very similar methodes and mesure of tabloidisation. The research confirms suppositons of an existence of resembling tabloidisation strategies within the newscast sessions of the commercial and also the statutory televisions.
