The instruments of inclusive integration of people with mild mental handicap into local communities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Nástroje inkluzivního začleňování osob s lehkým stupněm mentálního postižení do místních komunit je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část praktickou. V teoretické části jsem nejprve vysvětlila pojem mentální retardace, popsala přístupy k lidem s mentálním postižením a zaměřila se především na popsání pojmu inkluze. Dále jsem představila jednotlivé nástroje, které podporují osoby s lehkým stupněm mentálního postižení v začleňování do místní komunity. Jsou to takové nástroje, které umožňují lidem s postižením žít takový život, který je běžný pro jejich vrstevníky. Praktická neboli výzkumná část práce se podrobně věnuje popsání stavu inkluze lidí s mentálním postižením v Plzni a okolí. Za cíl výzkumu jsem si stanovila zjistit, jak inkluzivní začleňování lidí s mentálním postižením v tomto regionu probíhá, jaké nástroje jsou využívány a jak veřejnost vnímá začleňování lidí s mentálním postižením. Abych na tyto otázky dokázala odpovědět, použila jsem kvalitativní výzkum s metodami polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s pracovníky organizací podporující lidi s mentálním postižením. Dále jsem o možnostech začleňování promluvila se samotnými lidmi s mentálním postižením. Jako další zdroj získávání dat mi posloužily různé dokumenty a anketa se sousedy a spolupracovníky lidí s mentálním postižením. Závěr mé diplomové práce shrnuje výsledky výzkumu.

Abstract:

Thesis named? The instruments of inclusive integration of people with mild mental handicap into local communities? Is divided into theoretical and practical part. In theoretical part I firstly explained term mental retardation, I described approaches to people with mental handicap and I focused especially on describing of process of inclusion. Then I introduced each particular instrument, that support people with mild mental handicap in integration into the local communities. These are instruments that makes possible to people with handicap live such life, which is common for their coevals. Practical or exploratory part of thesis is closely focused on describing state of inclusion of people with mental handicap in Pilsen and nearby. As an objective of my research I establish to find out how is passing off inclusive integration of people with mental handicap in this region, which instruments are used and how integration of people with mental handicap is perceived by public. For answering these questions I used qualitative research with methods of semi-structured interviews with employees working in organizations that providing support for people with mental handicap. Further I talked about possibilities of integration with the very people with mental handicap. Miscellaneous documents and a poll with neighbors and coworkers help me as another source for gaining data. Concluding part of my thesis summarizes the outcomes of my research.
