Pre- vocational and vocational preparation of pupils with mild intellectual impairment

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou vzdělávání žáků s LMP na základní škole praktické a jejich dalším vzděláváním na středoškolské úrovni. V teoretické části je zpracováno téma mentální retardace, její definice a charakteristika, klasifikace a stupně, etiologie a charakteristika jedinců s mentálním postižením. Dalším tématem je výchova a vzdělávání jedinců s mentálním postižením, oblast rané péče, legislativní rámec vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením, jejich edukace v období předškolního věku a povinné školní docházky, Rámcový vzdělávací program pro základní vzdělávání s přílohou upravující vzdělávání žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením. V závěrečné části teorie se práce věnuje profesní orientaci žáků s mentálním postižením: faktory ovlivňujícími výběr povolání, poradenským systémem, diagnostikou k profesní orientaci a středoškolským vzděláváním žáků s mentálním postižením. Praktická část se zabývá výzkumem pěti bývalých žáků základní školy praktické, jejich dalšího studia a profesního uplatnění. Kvalitativní šetření sleduje jejich vzdělávání na všech stupních škol, důvody výběru povolání, úspěšnost či neúspěšnost ve studiu, postoje rodiny. Cílem bylo zjistit, z jakých důvodů si žáci vybírají obory k profesní přípravě, jak je v tom ovlivňuje rodina, škola a ostatní faktory, jak jsou ve studiu úspěšní a spokojení.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the education of pupils with mild intellectual impairment at practical elementary school and continuing education at the secondary level. The theoretical part is processed topic of mental retardation, its definition and characteristics, classification and grade, etiology and characteristics of individuals with intellectual disabilities.The other topic is upbringing and education of individuals with intellectual disabilities. It covers the area of early consulting, as well as legislation connected with the matter, education during preschool age and also during the period when education is compulsory. It also deals with Framing Educational Program for primary schools and includes a section which focuses on education of pupils with mild intellectual impairment. The last section of the theoretical part describes professional orientation of pupils with intellectual impairment. It details the factors that influence the pupils when choosing their career path and also describe counselling options available to the pupils. It also deals with the diagnostics for professional orientation secondary education of the pupils with intellectual impairment. The practical part focuses on a research of five former students of an Elementary practical school, and also on their further education and consecutive careers. The qualitative investigation follows education on all levels of schools, analyses choices of career path and also the success factor of education, including attitude of other family members toward the pupils. The objective was to learn how the students choose their study subjects in relation to their future jobs and how they are influenced by their families and by their teachers in their choices. The other aim was to find out how successful and satisfied the pupils are in their studying life.
