Telomery ohraničují a chrání konce lineárních eukaryotických chromozomů. Jejich přítomnost je pro udržení genomové stability nezbytná. Abstract:
Telomeres delimit and protect the ends of linear eukaryotic chromosomes. Their presence is necessary for maintaining of the genome stability. Exposure to suboptimal living conditions, e.g., stress, significantly affects telomeres and leads to telomere shortening and possible loss of their protective function.
