Teachers' Attitudes towards Giftedness and the Development of Gifted Children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Postoje učitelů k nadání a rozvoji nadaných dětí" pojednává o názorech pedagogů na nadané děti, ale i nadání samotné. Je psána ve dvou částech - teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část předkládá historické kořeny, které se zabývaly nadáním, poté definuje nadání a talent, jejich modely a druhy. Popisuje nadané dítě, čím je charakteristické, jeho povahové a osobnostní rysy, také jak a kým může být nadané dítě identifikováno. Specifikuje identifikaci nadaných dětí v mateřských školách nebo jiné inovativní metody. Dále se věnuje vzdělávání nadaných dětí a tomu, jak je ukotveno v českém zákoně. Udává teoretická východiska postojů učitelům k nadaným a možnosti jejich následného rozvoje se zaměřením na předškolní vzdělávání. Krátce definuje pedagoga pracujícího s nadanými dětmi. Popisuje organizace a instituce, které se nadaným dětem věnují v ČR. Praktická část popisuje výzkum, který je smíšeného charakteru. Jsou zde vysvětleny všechny metodologické náležitosti. Pro získání dat potřebných pro tento výzkum byl použit dotazník, v jehož úvodu se vyskytovaly otázky uzavřené a v závěru otázky užívající metaforických pojmů, jejich vysvětlení a také objasnění vlivu na budoucí život nadaného dítěte. Následovala analýza metafor a závěrečná shrnutí.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis entitled " Teachers' Attitudes towards Giftedness and the Development of Gifted Children" is about educator's opinions to gifted children, but also their talents. It´s written in two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part presents historical roots that looked at talent, then defines gift and talent, their models, and types. It describes a gifted child as having characteristics, traits, and personality traits, as well as how and by whom a gifted child can be identified. It specifies the identification of gifted children in nursery schools or other innovative methods. It also focuses on the education of gifted children and how it is anchored in Czech law. It provides theoretical starting points for teachers attitudes towards the gifted and the possibility of their subsequent development, focusing on pre-school education. It briefly defines an educator working with gifted children. It describes organizations and institutions devoted to gifted children in the Czech Republic. The practical part describes research that is mixed in nature. All the methodological elements are explained here. To obtain the data needed for this research, a questionnaire was used, in the introduction of which there closed questions and in the end questions using metaphorical concepts, explaining them, as well as clarifying the effect on the future life of a gifted child. An analysis of metaphors and final summaries followed.
