Abstract:

This master's thesis consists of a review of the recent literature concerning translation in language teaching and its relation to intercultural competence and intercultural communicative competence, examines the position of translation in curricular documents and includes selected translation activities intended for foreign language lessons. The aim of this thesis is to explore the role of translation in contemporary foreign language teaching, using a questionnaire addressed to foreign language teachers in lower and higher secondary education and interviews with these teachers and their students.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce obsahuje přehled poznatků z literatury na téma překladu ve výuce cizích jazyků a jeho vztahu k interkulturní kompetenci a interkulturní komunikační kompetenci, zkoumá pozici překladu v kurikulárních dokumentech a nabízí vybrané překladové aktivity k zakomponování do hodin cizích jazyků. Cílem této práce je zhodnotit roli překladu v současné výuce cizích jazyků za pomoci dotazníku adresovanému učitelům druhého stupně základních škol a učitelům středních škol a rozhovorů s těmito učiteli a jejich žáky.
