The issue of communication in a patient with a tracheostomy

Abstract:

Bakalářské práce je věnována problematice komunikace u pacienta s tracheostomií v intenzivní péči a na standardním lůžkovém oddělení. Teoretická část popisuje anatomii a fyziologii dýchacích cest, vymezení pojmu tracheostomie, druhy tracheostomických kanyl, komplikace tracheostomie a ošetřovatelskou péči o pacienta s tracheostomií. Závěr této části je věnován komunikaci, komunikačním metodám a pomůckám používaných u těchto pacientů. V empirické části jsou zpracovány kazuistiky dvou pacientů s tracheostomií, hospitalizovaných na oddělení intenzivní péče a standardním lůžkovém oddělení. Součástí této části jsou i rozhovory se sestrami, které tyto pacienty ošetřovaly. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit rozdílnost komunikace u pacienta s tracheostomií v intenzivní péči a na standardním lůžkové oddělení. Jaké komunikační metody a pomůcky sestry při komunikaci u pacienta s tracheostomií používají a zda jsou dostatečně v této oblasti edukovány. Tento cíl se podařilo splnit.

Abstract:

The bachelor work deals with communication problems of patients who suffer from tracheostomy. These patients are hospitalized in an intensive care unit or a standard ward. The theoretical part describes anatomy and physiology of respiratory track, definition of tracheostomy, kinds of tracheostomy tubes, complications of tracheostomy and nursing care about patients with tracheostomy. The end of this part deals with communication, communication methods and aids using by these patients. The empirical part contains analysis of two case report of patients who suffered from tracheostomy. They were hospitalized in the intensive care unit and the standard ward. There are also interviews with nurses, who cared about these patients. The aim of this work was to detect the differences of communication of tracheostomy patients in the intensive care unit and the standard ward. What kinds of communication methods are used by nurses when they communicate with tracheostomy patients and if they are educated enough in this field. The aim of the bachelor work was accomplished.
