Spiritual needs of seniors admitted in the hospital

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se orientuje na spirituální potřeby seniorů, kteří jsou hospitalizování v nemocnicích. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je zjistit duchovní prožívání seniorů, kteří jsou hospitalizováni v nemocnici. Práce je rozdělena na dva celky, teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se skládá ze tří kapitol. První kapitola se věnuje seniorskému věku, změnám člověka ve stáří. Druhá kapitola si klade za cíl vysvětlit pojem potřeba člověka, druhy potřeb a charakteristiku spirituálních potřeb. Třetí kapitola se pak orientuje na seznámení čtenáře s poskytováním spirituální péče v nemocničních zařízeních. Čtvrtá kapitola diplomové práce se věnuje zpracování výzkumného projektu. Kapitola výzkumného projektu je započata vymezením cíle a hypotéz práce, poté následuje podkapitola metodologie a popis zkoumaného vzorku. Praktická část diplomové práce je zpracována metodou kvantitativního výzkumu, při kterém jsem použila metodu dotazníku. Dotazník byl distribuován seniorům všech věkových skupin na Doléčovacím a rehabilitačním oddělení FN USA v Brně. V podkapitole interpretace získaných dat jsou graficky znázorněny jednotlivé vybrané otázky z dotazníku, odpovědi respondentů a následné grafické znázornění pomocí grafů. Mezi jednotlivými tabulkami a grafy je provedena analýza výzkumného šetření. Podkapitola závěry a diskuze výsledků výzkumného šetření pojednává o výsledcích kvantitativního výzkumu této diplomové práce. Diplomová práce je doplněna o rozhovor s nemocničním knězem P. ThLic. Leo Zerhauem, Th.D. který se věnuje spirituální péči o pacienty většiny brněnských nemocnic. Některé jeho myšlenky z rozhovoru doplňují podkapitolu interpretace získaných dat.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the spiritual needs of seniors who are hospitalized. The main objective of this thesis is to find a spiritual experience of elderly people who are hospitalized. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to older employees, changes in human aging. The second chapter aims to explain the concept of human need, the types of needs and characteristics of spiritual needs. The third chapter focuses on acquainting the reader with the provision of spiritual care in hospitals. The fourth chapter of the thesis is devoted to a qualitative research project. Chapter of the research project is begun by defining objectives and hypotheses of work, followed by a description of the methodology subchapter sample. The practical part of the diploma thesis is a method of quantitative research, which I have used the method of questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to seniors of all ages to DRO FN USA in Brno. In the subsection interpretation of the survey results are shown graphically individual questions in the questionnaire, responses and subsequent graphical representation of graphs. Between tables and graphs of the analysis of the research. Subchapter conclusions and discussion of the results of the research deals with the results of the quantitative research of this thesis. The thesis is accompanied by an interview with the hospital priest P. ThLic. Leo Zerhau, Th.D. which deals with the spiritual care of patients, mostly in Brno hospitals. Some of his thoughts from an interview following section on data interpretation.
