The media view of woman politician: Petra Buzková

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zabývá mediální reprezentací ženy v politice v rámci prostředí České republiky. Na konkrétním příkladu političky Petry Buzkové zkoumá vliv ideologie patriarchátu na mediální strategie společenských časopisů. V teoretické části se práce soustředí na širší zpracování kontextu postavení ženy v české politice. V kvantitativní části se prostřednictvím metody kvantitativní obsahové analýzy zabývá konstrukcí mediálního obrazu Petry Buzkové optikou teorie genderových stereotypů a použitím vybraných editoriálních strategií. V kvalitativní části práce je porovnána mediální prezentace ženy političky po roce 2000 a ženy v politice ve 30. letech 20. století. Cílem, který kvalitativní část práce sleduje, je především vypovědět o tom, jakým způsobem se média na postavení ženy v politice dívala ve dvou odlišných obdobích, a do jaké míry legitimovala soudobý dominantní diskurs, týkající se postavení ženy v politice.

Abstract:

The presented thesis deals with representation of womem politicians in the media, in the context of The Czech Republic. Using a particular case of politician Petra Buzková, probes the impact of the ideology of patriarchy on the strategies in the media of the lifestyle magazines. The theoretic part of the thesis focuses on the special context of the women politicians status in the czech politics. The quantitative part deals with the construction of a media view of Petra Buzková, this part emphasis the impact of the masculinity and femininity stereotypes. Chosen editoval strategies are also a part of the quantitative content analysis. The qualitative part compares media representation of a czech woman politician after 2000 and a woman politician in thirties of the 20 century in contemporary magazines. The main aim of the qualitative part is to find out the ways in which contemporary media presented the status of women politician and in which points legitimated the dominante discourse.
