The Role of the Midwife in Community Nursing

Abstract:

Tato případová bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou role porodní asistentky v komunitním ošetřovatelstvím během období těhotenství. Práce je rozdělaná na tři hlavní části. První část práce je věnována základnímu vymezení komunitní péče. Zaměříme se na význam primární, sekundární a terciální prevence. V druhé části práce je definována profese porodní asistentky včetně právních předpisů, nároku na vzdělání a povinností, které musí porodní asistentka splnit pro založení vlastní praxe. Třetí část práce má za úkol přiblížit náplň práce porodní asistentky v období těhotenství. Cílem této práce je popsat náplň práce porodní asistentky v komunitním prostředí na dobu před porodem s konkrétním zaměřením na prenatální poradnu a předporodní psychoprofylaktickou přípravu. Součástí praktické části této práce je kazuistika ženy, ve které jsou porovnávána její dvě těhotenství a rozdíl ve vnímání péče poskytované obvodním gynekologem a péče, které se účastní i komunitní porodní asistentka. Pro přiblížení náplně práce komunitní porodní asistentky je v závěru práce uveden rozhovor s porodní asistentkou Marií Vnoučkovou. V závěru shrnujeme získané poznatky o působení porodní asistentky v komunitním prostředí během období těhotenství a hodnotím její význam v oblasti primární prevence. Výsledkem této práce jsou doporučení pro studentky porodní asistence, které mají zájem o práci v komunitním prostředí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the midwife's role in community nursing during pregnancy. The work is divided into three main parts. The first part of the work is dedicated to the basic definition of community care. We will focus on the importance of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. In the second part of the work, the midwifery profession is defined, including legal regulations, the right to education and obligations that a midwife must fulfill in order to establish her own practice. The third part of the work has the task of describing the content of the work of a midwife during pregnancy. The aim of this work is to describe the duties of a midwife in a community environment for the period before childbirth, with a specific focus on prenatal counseling and prenatal psychoprophylactic preparation. Part of the practical part of this work is a woman's case report, in which her two pregnancies are compared and the difference in the perception of care provided by a district gynecologist and care that is also attended by a community midwife. An interview with the midwife Marie Vnoučková is presented at the end of the thesis to give an overview of the work of a community midwife. In the conclusion, I summarize the knowledge gained about the role of the midwife in the community environment during pregnancy and evaluate her importance in the field of primary prevention. The result of this work are recommendations for midwifery students who are interested in working in a community setting.
