Abroad experiences with development of linguistic competences of foreigner’s children fulfilling mandatory school attendance

Abstract:

Předmětem mé diplomové práce je srovnání zahraničních přístupů k rozvoji jazykových kompetencí dětí migrantů v průběhu plnění povinné školní docházky. V teoretické části práce blíže specifikuji skupinu cizinců a dále pojmy související s rozvojem jazykových kompetencí. V druhé, teoreticko-praktické části práce analyzuji přístup k této problematice v Německu, Rakousku a České republice, který zahrnuje základní informace o stavu cizinců v zemi, vztahy mezi cizinci a občany jednotlivých států, legislativní opatření výuky druhého jazyka a jeho způsob realizace. V praktické části práce vycházím ze získaných informací za účelem jejich vyhodnocení s ohledem na využitelnost osvědčených a fungujících postupů také v České republice. Cílem práce je zjištění, jakým způsobem jsou děti migrantů podporováni v rozvoji druhého jazyka v České republice v porovnání se situací v Německu a Rakousku. Sestavit cenné rady a tipy využitelné v našich podmínkách.

Abstract:

The subject matter of my thesis is to compare foreign approaches to the development of language competences of the children of refugee families during school age. The theoretical part specifies the groups of migrants and the terms connected with the development of language competences. The second part of my thesis analyzes the approach to this problem in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, which involves the information about the foreigners of each country, the relationships between the foreigners and the inhabitants of the countries, the legislative conditions of teaching the second language and the way of its realisation. In the practical part, I analyze the gathered information considering the application of approved methods in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the thesis is to find out the ways in which the refugee children are supported in the development of the second language in the Czech Republic and to compare them with the situation in Germany and Austria. The thesis also gives some advice that could be used in our conditions.
