Support of higher vocational school students through educational materials

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Podpora studentů vyšších odborných škol prostřednictvím výukových zdrojů se zabývá výukovými zdroji, které užívají studenti vyšších odborných škol. Publikace odpovídá na následující otázky: Z jakých výukových zdrojů se učí studenti vyšších odborných škol? Jak vypadá definice vyšší odborné školy? Existují kvalitní výukové zdroje z pohledu edukačních médií v oblasti pedagogiky pro vyšší odborné školy? Práce si klade za cíl představit problematiku vyšších odborných škol ve spojitosti s výukovými zdroji, které jsou na těchto školách užívány. Na základě daných poznatků je realizována tvorba studijního materiálu, která je podložena hloubkovými rozhovory. Jelikož se výukové zdroje pro VOŠ v oblasti pedagogiky téměř nevyskytují, je studijní materiál Po Stopách J. A. Komenského velmi přínosný. Práce je rozdělena do několika částí. Teoretická část pracuje se základními pojmy (vyšší odborné školy, výukové zdroje a různé typy studijních materiálů). V této části dochází k prozkoumaní dané problematiky. Teoretické poznatky přináší oporu pro další části diplomové práce. Empirická část přináší výzkumné šetření zaměřené na výukové zdroje, které užívají studenti na vyšší odborné škole. Šetření bylo provedeno pomocí polostrukturovaného hloubkového rozhovoru se studenty VOŠ. Výzkum byl publikován pod názvem Higher vocational students´ use of verbal and nonverbal components in learning from text. Praktická část se zabývá tvorbou výukového materiálu pro studenty vyšší odborné školy v oblasti pedagogiky. Na základě získaných teoretických poznatků a závěrů z výzkumného šetření byl vytvořen výukový materiál pro studenty vyšší odborné školy z oblasti pedagogiky na téma J. A. Komenský. Tento studijní zdroj byl pilotován v praxi a následně hodnocen vzorkem studentů, pedagogů i vedení dané VOŠ.

Abstract:

The thesis entitled Support of higher vocational school students through educational materials deals with learning resources used by higher vocational school students. The publication answers the following questions: What educational resources are used by higher vocational school students? What is the definition of a vocational school? Are there quality instructional resources in terms of educational media in the field of pedagogy for higher vocational schools? This thesis aims to present the issue of higher vocational schools in relation to the teaching resources used in these schools. On the basis of the given knowledge, the development of study material is realized, which is supported by in-depth interviews. Since teaching resources for HVSs in the field of pedagogy are almost non-existent, the study material In the Footsteps of J. A. Comenius is very useful. The thesis is divided into several parts. The theoretical part deals with basic concepts (higher vocational schools, teaching resources and different types of study materials). In this part, the subject is explored. The theoretical knowledge provides support for the other parts of the thesis. The empirical part presents a research investigation focusing on the learning resources used by students at a higher vocational school. The investigation was conducted using semi structured in-depth interviews with HVS students. The research was published under the title Higher vocational students' use of verbal and nonverbal components in learning from text. The practical part deals with the development of teaching material for higher vocational students in the field of pedagogy. On the basis of the theoretical knowledge obtained and the conclusions of the research investigation, teaching material for higher vocational school students in the field of pedagogy on the topic of J. A. Komenský was created. This learning resource was piloted in practice and subsequently evaluated by a sample of students, teachers and management of the HVS.
