Language and style of the novel The last stop for Manuscripts by Miloš Urban

Abstract:

Miloš Urban je jedním z nejúspěšnějších současných spisovatelů. Do literatury vstoupil v roce 1998 prvotinou Poslední tečka za Rukopisy. Cílem této bakalářské práce „Jazyk a styl románu Poslední tečka za Rukopisy Miloše Urbana“ je analýza jazykové a stylové složky tohoto románu. V úvodu práce se seznamujeme s osobou M. Urbana a jeho dílem. Dále je pak rozdělena na dvě části, literární rozbor a jazykový rozbor. V části literární se zabýváme kompozičními postupy a principy. V jazykové části pak sledujeme užité výrazové a jazykové prostředky, styl, slohové postupy a útvary. V závěru objasňujeme pojem Postmodernismus a odpovídáme na otázku, zda je Urbanův román postmoderní a zda se jedná o fikci, nebo jsou informace v knize pravdivé.

Abstract:

Miloš Urban is one of the most successful writers today. He has started his literary career in 1998, when he published his first novel The last stop for Manuscripts. The aim of this Bachelor´s work „Language and style of the novel The last stop for Manuscripts by Miloš Urban“ is the linguistic and style´ s analysis of this novel. Miloš Urban and his publications are introduced at the beginning of this work. Then the thesis is devided into two parts, literary analysis and linguistic analysis. We deal with composition procedures and principles in the literary part. Then we observe used expressive and linguistic agens´, style, stylistic procedures and systems in the linguistic part. At the end of the thesis we explain the idea of Postmodernism and we answer the question, if Urban´s novel is postmodernistic and if it´s a fiction or not.
