To be one’s own master - a case study of the Principles of Life

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá analýzou filosofického systému Principy života®. V souvislosti s konceptem reflexivní spirituality je tato filosofie nahlížena z pozice systému učení. Ve spojitosti se schématem čtyř režimů stvrzování víry je poté nahlížena jako duchovní skupina. První část práce nás uvádí do tématu vzniku nových náboženských hnutí prostřednictvím diskusí nad konceptem sekularizace a následně i privatizovaného náboženství. Práce zachycuje náboženský vývoj posledních třiceti let s bližším zaměřením na prostředí České republiky. Ve filosofickém systému Principy života® autorka nalezla přítomnost všech čtyř technik spirituální komunikace v rámci konceptu reflexivní spirituality. Na základě analýzy interních dokumentů této filosofie identifikovala užívání metaforických interpretací, pluralismu, reflexivity a do jisté míry také mysticismu. Dále identifikuje režimy komunitního a vzájemného stvrzování víry, které má být cíleno k dosažení vlastního sebestvrzení víry. Režimy stvrzování víry umožňují i zachycení pozice autority, která se v tomto systému jeví jako záležitost sebepoznání a vnitřní jistoty, což je hlavním cílem sledované filosofie.

Abstract:

This thesis analyses the philosophical system Principles of Life®. In connection with the concept of reflexive spirituality, this philosophy is looked at from the viewpoint of a learning system and subsequently in connection with the scheme of four regimes of religion confirmation as a spiritual group. The first part of this work deals with the inception of new religious movements using the concept of secularization and consequently the privatized religion. The thesis deals with the religious development in the last thirty years being largerly concentrated on the situation in the Czech Republic. In the philosophical system Principles of Life®, the author found all four techniques of spiritual communication in the framework of the concept of the reflexive spirituality. Based on the analysis of internal documents of this philosophy, she identified the usage of metaphorical interpretations, pluralism, reflexivity and to some extent mysticism. Furthermore, she identifies the regime of communal and mutual religion confirmation that has to lead to finding own self-confirmation of the religion. The regimes of confirmation in this system appear as a matter of self-knowledge and internal certainty, which is the main aim of the observed philisophy.
