Use of hippotherapy in children with ADHD as a supplement to the occupational therapy program

Abstract:

V úvodu bakalářské práce se zabývám analýzou odborných článků na téma ADHD, hiporehabilitace a ergoterapie. Cílem práce je přiblížení problematiky ADHD a zhodnocení, zda má ergoterapeutická intervence u tohoto onemocnění účinek, a jak působí hiporehabilitace jako doplněk k ergoterapeutické intervenci. Metodikou mé práce byla případová studie s klientem s diagnózou ADHD. Na základě vstupního ergoterapeutického vyšetření byl stanoven krátkodobý ergoterapeutický cíl a plán zaměřen na rozvoj jemné motoriky, hrubé motoriky a na trénink pozornosti a koncentrace. Po výstupním ergoterapeutickém vyšetření byl stanoven dlouhodobý ergoterapeutický plán. Při porovnání vstupních a výstupních výsledků lze pozorovat, že došlo ke zlepšení ve všech oblastech, na které byl krátkodobý ergoterapeutický plán zaměřen. Bylo zhodnoceno, že hiporehabilitace je vhodná jako doplněk k ergoterapeutickému programu, jelikož působí na stejné problémové oblasti, na které se zaměřuje také ergoterapie. Ergoterapie a hiporehabilitace cílená na problémové oblasti přispěla u probanda k pozitivnímu zlepšení v motorických a kognitivních funkcích.

Abstract:

In the introduction of this bachelor thesis I deal with research on the topic of ADHD, hipporehabilitation and occupational therapy. The aim of this work is to approach the issue of ADHD and to evaluate whether he occupational therapy intervention has an effect on this disease and how hippotherapy acts as a supplement to the occupational therapy intervention. A case study methodology involved a boy with ADHD diagnosis was used. On the basis of an initial examination short-term occupational aim and plan that concentrated on progress in fine motor skill, gross motor skill and practising concentration and attention was defined. After output examination a long-term occupational therapy plan was determined. When comparing the results from the initial examination and the outgoing examination, we can see that there has been an improvement in each area that has been identified in the short term therapeutic aim. I reviewed that hippotherapy is useful as a supplement to the occupational therapy intervention, because it effects the same problem areas as an occupational therapy. Occupational therapy and hippotherapy focused on problem areas and contributed to a positive improvement in motor and cognitive functions.
