Research of architecture of the Poděbrady era in Bohemia. Completion of the construction of the Church of Our Lady before Týn in Prague after the end of the Hussite Wars

Abstract:

V úvodní části práce jsou představeny v hlavních bodech výsledky dosavadního bádání o architektuře poděbradské doby v Čechách. Hlavní část práce je věnována výzkumu nejvýznamnější stavby daného období, kostelu Panny Marie před Týnem v Praze. Rozbor známých skutečností a terénní průzkum stavby, který přinesl nová zjištění, byly směrovány k řešení zásadní otázky: v jakém rozsahu byl Týnský kostel dostavován v období po skončení husitských válek. V pohusitském stavebním vývoji kostela - jak se ukazuje, mnohem rozsáhlejším, než se dosud předpokládalo - byly nově rozpoznány tři hlavní fáze

Abstract:

The introductory part of the thesis presents the crucial points of the results of the current exploration concerning the architecture of the Poděbrady era in Bohemia. The main body of the thesis is focused on the research of the most important building of that period, the Church of Our Lady before Týn in Prague. The analysis of known facts and the field survey of the building, which brought new findings, were aimed at the solution of the fundamental question: In what range was the construction of the Týn Church completed in the period after the end of the Hussite wars? In the post-Hussite building development of the Church - which is demonstrated to be more extensive than it used to be expected - three main phases have been newly identified
