The risk of the entrusting of children into foster care

Abstract:

Tato absolventská práce se zabývá problematikou náhradní rodinné péče, se zaměřením na specifické rizikové oblasti pěstounské péče. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo prostřednictvím kompilace identifikovat rizika, která mohou nastat při svěřování dětí do pěstounské péče. Teoretická část nejprve vysvětluje pojmy: význam domova a rodiny pro vývoj dítěte, náhradní rodinná péče, pěstounská péče. Dále rozpracovává pěstounskou péči do podkapitol: pěstounská péče vykonávaná prarodiči, pěstounská péče na přechodnou dobu, kontakt dítěte s biologickou rodinou. Každá podkapitola je doplněna o rozpracovaná rizika, která v ní mohou nastat. V další kapitole je rozpracován stávající systém ochrany dítěte, nástroje, vize a limity systému. Výsledky této absolventské práce mohou pomoci potenciálním i stávajícím pěstounům posoudit vlastní zkušenosti s obecně sdíleným přesvědčením a navrhovaným řešením, jsou též k dispozici sociálním pracovníkům pro kritické srovnání s vlastními zkušenostmi. Dále mohou být využity jako studijní materiál pro studenty, kteří by se chtěli práci s ohroženou rodinou věnovat.

Abstract:

This graduation thesis deals with substitute family care with a focus on specific risk areas of foster care. The main objective of this work was through the compilation identify risks that may occur during placing children into foster care. The theoretical part explains the concept: the importance of home and family for the child's development, substitute family care, foster care. Further elaborates foster care into subsections: foster care provided by grandparents, short term foster care, contact with the child's biological family. Each section is accompanied by an evolution of the risks that it may encounter. The next chapter elaborates the current child protection system, tools, vision and limits of the system. Results of this graduation thesis may help both potential and current foster parents assess their experience with the generally shared conviction and proposed solutions. Results are also available to social workers for critical comparison with their own experience. They can also be used as study material for students who would like to work with vulnerable families.
