Influence of amputation on the quality of life

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou vlivu amputace, získaného tělesného postižení, na kvalitu života dospělého jedince. Cílem výzkumného šetření bylo zjistit, jakým způsobem a do jaké míry amputace ovlivňuje kvalitu života jedinců s tímto druhem postižení. Mezi dílčí cíle patří, jak se jedinec vyrovnává se svým postižením, jak vnímá sám sebe a své okolí, zdali je uplatnitelný na trhu práce a do jaké míry ovlivňuje získané postižení aktivní život jedince. Diplomová práce se skládá z teoretické části a praktické části. Teoretická část vymezuje pojem amputace, zabývá se problematikou péče o pahýl, psychikou jedince se získaným tělesným postižením, návratem do společnosti a zaměstnáváním jedinců se získaným tělesným postižením. Praktická část je zaměřena kvalitativně a je založena na pěti případových studií s jedinci s amputací.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the main topic, which is the influence of an amputation, the gained physical disability, on the quality of life by adults. The aim of the research of the thesis was to find how and to what extent the amputation affects the quality of life of the people with amputations. Partial objectives were to find how the individuals cope with their disability, how they perceive themselves and the environment around them, whether they are capable to find a job and how this disability influences their active life. The thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part defines an amputation, dealing with the issue of the care for the stump, the psyche of the individuals with the gained disability, returning to the society and the employment of the individuals with the gained physical disability. The practical part is focused qualitative and it is based on five case studies of the individuals with amputations.
