Diversity Management at L'Oréal

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce má za cíl shrnout současné poznatky z oblasti diverzity a inkluze, zhodnotit současný přístup k diversity managementu společností L’Oréal a navrhnout opatření pro jeho zlepšení či rozšíření. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. První se zabývá diverzitou a inkluzí v širším kontextu jako součástí firemní kultury. Druhá kapitola je věnována tématice řízení diverzity a jeho taktickým nástrojům. Následuje praktická část, kde je zhodnocen management diverzity společnosti L’Oréal, a to z pohledu následujících dimenzí: gender, věk, národnost, příslušnost k LGBT komunitě a příslušnost mezi osoby se zdravotním postižením. K tomu jsou využita interní data společnosti, dotazníkové šetření a hloubkové rozhovory se zaměstnanci. Veškeré poznatky analýzy jsou shrnuty ve SWOT analýze, na kterou navazuje poslední kapitola, kde jsou představena doporučen pro zkvalitnění řízení diverzity. L’Oréal je společností s velmi silnou firemní kulturou, ve které jsou pevně ukotveny zásady diverzity a inkluze. Zaměstnanci mají k tématu velmi pozitivní vztah, cítí se respektováni a přijímáni, považují téma diverzity a inkluze za důležité a jsou velmi otevřeni různorodosti. Identifikovány byly i slabé stránky a hrozby, na kterých může firma pracovat. Nechť je tato práce inspirací pro L’Oréal, pro jiné firmy i pro odborníky zabývající se diverzitou.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to summarize the current knowledge in the field of diversity and inclusion, to evaluate the current approach to diversity management by L'Oréal and to propose measures to improve or expand it. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first deals with diversity and inclusion in a broader context as part of corporate culture. The second chapter is devoted to the topic of diversity management and its tactical tools. This is followed by a practical section, which assesses L'Oréal's diversity management in terms of the following dimensions: gender, age, nationality, LGBT community, and people with disabilities. This is done using internal company data, questionnaire surveys, and in-depth interviews with employees. All the findings of the analysis are summarised in a SWOT analysis, which is followed by the last chapter where recommendations for improving diversity management are presented. L'Oréal is a company with a very strong corporate culture in which the principles of diversity and inclusion are firmly anchored. Employees have a very positive attitude, feel respected and accepted, consider the topic of diversity and inclusion important, and are very open to diversity. Weaknesses and threats were also identified that the company can work on. Let this work be an inspiration for L'Oréal, for other companies, and for diversity professionals.
