Media reflection of "Velká mostecká stávka"

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se bude zabývat mediálním obrazem Velké mostecké stávky. Mým úkolem pak bude zjistit, jaký obraz Velké mostecké stávky byl vytvářen na stránkách vybraných periodik tehdejší doby. Tento mediální obraz se pokusím vytvořit jak za pomoci metody diskursivní analýzy v pojetí Jamese Paula Geeho, tak i využitím ideologických módů operandi od Johna B. Thompsona. Samotná práce bude rozdělena do pěti částí. V první části se budu věnovat událostem Velké mostecké stávky z historického hlediska, přičemž zde nastíním, jaké sociální a hospodářské důvody vedly ke vzniku této stávky. V druhé části se budu zabývat sociálně konstruktivistickým teoriím a metodám, které budou tvořit základní teoretický rámec této práce. Na tuto kapitolu pak naváži s částí metodologickou. Následně podrobím vybrané články samotné diskurzivní analýze, přičemž získané poznatky využiji v poslední kapitole mojí práce, kdy se pokusím zodpovědět jednotlivé výzkumné otázky a identifikovat konkrétní diskurzivní modely. Věřím, že diskursivní analýza nám nabízí vynikající možnost podívat se na soudobé vnímání těchto událostí a naleznout tak i některé dosud skryté souvislosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis will deal with the media image of "Velká mostecká stávka". My task is to assemble a picture of these events on the basis of how the newspapers about these events back in that time. I'll try to create this image with the help of methods of discourse analysis by James Paul Gee, as well as utilizing ideological modus operandi by John B. Thompson. The work itself will be divided into five parts. In the first part I'll deal with events of "Velká mostecká stávka" from a historical perspective, and I'll try to describe, which social and economic reasons led to the emergence of the strike. The second part will work with socio-constructivist theories and methods that will form the basic theoretical framework of this work. This chapter is then followed with the methodological part. Then I will apply a discourse analysis on the selected articles. The outcome of this method will be used in the final part of the thesis, in which I'll try to answer the questions included in the research, as well as identify particular discourse models. I belive that the discourse analysis offers us a fantastic option to have a look at a contemporary perception of the events, and therefore helps us discover some yet-to-be-revealed connections.
