The impact of management style on job satisfaction in social care

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je zhodnotit vliv stylu řízení manažera na výkon práce zaměstnanců pracujících v sociálních službách, jejich spokojenost a motivaci, a to zejména zaměstnanců v domovech pro osoby se zdravotním postižením. V teoretické části je definována osobnost manažera, styly řízení, motivace, stimulace a pracovní spokojenost zaměstnanců. Současně jsou zde charakterizovány sociální služby, je zde jejich rozdělení a specifikace práce manažera v sociálních službách. Nedílnou součástí jsou i rizika vyplývající z práce pomáhající profese, jejich prevence a řešení. V praktické části je zjišťován vliv stylu řízení na profesní spokojenost a motivaci pracovníků vsociálních službách. Průzkum je realizován kvantitativní metodou, a to formou dotazníkového šetření, které probíhalo v různých pobytových zařízeních sociálních služeb ve Středočeském kraji. Z výzkumného šetření vyplynulo, že spolupráce mezi manažery a zaměstnanci v zařízeních sociálních služeb je kvalitní, pracovní vztahy na pracovišti jsou úspěšné, pracovní tým je dobře fungující a zaměstnanci jsou efektivně motivováni. Jeden z faktorů, které mají vliv na to, jak zaměstnanci pracují, je styl vedení a osobnost jejich nadřízeného.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the influence of managerial style on the performance of employees working in social services, their satisfaction and motivation, especially employees in homes for people with disabilities. The theoretical part defines the manager's personality, management styles, motivation, stimulation and job satisfaction of employees. At the same time, social services are characterized, their division and specification of the manager's work in social services. Risks arising from the work of the helping profession, their prevention and solution are also an integral part. In the practical part, the influence of management style on professional satisfaction and motivation of social service workers is investigated. The research is carried out using a quantitative method, in the form of a questionnaire survey conducted in various residential social services facilities in the Central Bohemia Region. The research survey showed that the cooperation between managers and employees in social service facilities is of high quality, the working relationships in the workplace are successful, the work team is well functioning and the employees are effectively motivated. One of the factors that influence how employees work is the management style and personality of their supervisor.
