New partnerships in the senior age

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem nových partnerských vztahů v seniorském věku. Cílem diplomové práce je nejen nahlédnutí do problematiky stárnutí, ale i hlubší porozumění, jak nově utvořené páry společně žijí a fungují. Zároveň práce zkoumá, jak na vztah působí různé faktory, jako rodina, finanční rozpočet seniorů, nebo také jejich každodenní život a společné kladné i negativní zkušenosti. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 5 respondentů, z nichž jsou čtyři ženy a jeden muž. Vztahy byly velmi odlišné, z toho důvodu jsou data velmi variabilní. Výzkum byl proveden pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru a dále analyzován podle otevřeného kódování. Z výzkumu vzešlo šest kategorií, které byly následně interpretovány, vyhodnoceny a prodiskutovány s teoretickým základem. Všechny seniorské vztahy z výzkumu ukazují světlá i stinná místa vztahu ve stáří. Avšak diplomová práce přináší zajímavé skutečnosti v životě seniorů, kteří žijí v nově utvořeném vztahu a vyvrací možné mýty společnosti.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the theme of new partnerships in the senior age. Its goal is not only to look into the issue of aging, but also to deeper understand how newly created partnerships functionate. At the same time it explores, how varieties of factors such as family, financial budget, seniors everyday life and pozitive or negative experiences affect these partnerships. 5 respondents, four women and one man, participated in the research. Each partnership highly differentiated and thus the data found are of high variability. Reaseach used a semi-structured interview and analysis was done through open coding. Six categories, which were interpreted, evaluated and discussed with the theoretical base, emerged from the research. All of the senior partnerships in this reseach show ups and downs of the partneship in the elderly age. The diploma thesis however brings intriguing facts from the seniors life, who lives in a newly created partnership. And it also refutes potential societal norms.
