Life situation of homeless people

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na životní situace bezdomovců. Teoretická část se po úvodu, ve své první kapitole, zabývá obecnou charakteristikou bezdomovectví, včetně užívaných definic. Ve druhé kapitole je popisována historie bezdomovectví a jeho vývoj, dále se zaměřením na vývoj v našich zemích a jeho specifika. Samostatnou podkapitolu tvoří historie bezdomovectví v Karviné, městě, na které je konkrétně zaměřena nejen teoretická, ale hlavně praktická část diplomové práce. Následuje kapitola popisující bezdomovectví, jako sociální fenomén, dále členěna na příčiny vzniku bezdomovectví, jeho typologii a formy. Další kapitola uvádí popis systému sociální intervence, podrobněji rozvedený v kapitolách institucionální pomoc a pomoc neziskových organizací. V praktické části mé diplomové práce se zabývám konkrétním výzkumem, kdy smyslem tohoto výzkumu je hlouběji nahlédnout na životní situace bezdomovců, tak, jak jsem si to prostřednictvím vytčených cílů stanovil. Zjistit, které skutečnosti způsobují, že se člověk stane bezdomovcem v určitých složitých sociálních situacích, zatím co jiný člověk dokáže tyto nepříznivé skutečnosti překonat jiným způsobem, aniž by se bezdomovcem stal. Zjistit, zda kromě obecně známých skutečností (ztráta zaměstnání, rozchod s partnerem a následné dluhy) se na vzniku bezdomovectví podílejí i další faktory, jako např. alkohol, ztráta především sociálních kontaktů s blízkým okolím apod., či zde hrají roli ještě další důvody. Výsledky výzkumu jsou prezentovány k jednotlivým cílům a jejich vyhodnocení je provedeno v kapitole diskuze. Závěrem je uvedeno zhodnocení obou částí diplomové práce.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the life situation of the homeless people. The introduction is followed by the theoretical part which is, in its first chapter, dealing with general characteristics of homelessness and used definitions. The history and development of homelessness and its specifics in our country are described in the second chapter. A special chapter is focused on the history of homelessness in Karviná. This town is the main object of not only the theoretical part of the thesis but mainly of the practical one. Next chapter is dealing with the homelessness as a social phenomenon and it is divided into the parts describing the reasons of the development of homelessness, its typology and forms. Following chapter is dealing with the system of social intervention which is further described in the chapters called institutional assistance and the help of the non-profit organizations. The practical part of this diploma thesis deals with the specific research. The aim is to describe the life situation of the homeless people following the set goals. Those goals are to find out why some people become homeless in difficult social conditions and some are able to solve such unfavourable situation without ending homeless. Another target is to discover which factors, except those that are generally well known (e.g. unemployment, divorce and debts), are involved in becoming homeless, for example alcohol, loss of social contact with family or close friends etc. Results of the research are introduced with the individual goals and their evaluation is realized in the chapter called discussion.
