Od roku 2000 narůstá počet průzkumů zkoumajících čtenářství u dětí a mládeže, které zjišťují pokles frekvence v četbě dětí a mládeže, především u pubescentů, který spojují s popularizací médií: televize, počítačů a internetu, jež vytěsňují čtení u žáků základní školy. The number of surveys dealing with the reading habits of children and teenagers has been increasing since the year 2000. These surveys are founding out that the frequency of children’s and especially teenagers‘ reading is on the decline, which they connect to the popular media such as television, computers and the internet, which displace reading of elementary school pupils.
