The impact of monetary policy on the labor market and family in the Czech Republic through regression analysis

Abstract:

Tato práce se bude zabývat charakteristikou měnové politiky v České republice, její podstatou, funkcemi a nástroji. Zároveň bude cílem této práce analyzovat, jaký má dopad, popř. vliv měnová politika na trh práce a rodinu v ČR s využitím regresní analýzy. Zaměřena bude na aplikaci metody nejmenších čtverců k analýze charakteru vztahu mezi dvěma proměnnýma a ke kvantifikaci vlivu vysvětlujících proměnných na proměnnou. Kvantifikace dopadu měnové politiky bude prováděna pomocí veřejně dostupných ukazatelů, jako je např. 2T repo sazba, diskontní sazba, množství úvěrů domácností apod. Trh práce bude mapován prostřednictvím ukazatelů míra nezaměstnanosti a zaměstnanosti, míra ekonomické aktivity, podíl nezaměstnaných osob a další. Oblast rodiny zastoupí ukazatele výše příjmů domácností, míra úspor a investic. Získané výsledky odladěných modelů budou následně testovány sadou běžně používaných testů a metod měření. Tyto testy budou prováděny pomocí ekonometricko-statistického softwaru Gretl. Výsledky nejkvalitnějších z nich pak budou popsány v textu empirické analýzy.

Abstract:

This work will deal with the characteristics of monetary policy in the Czech Republic, her nature, functions and tools. At the same time, the goal of this work will be to analyze the impact or the impact of monetary policy on the labor market and the family in the Czech Republic using regression analysis. It will focus primarily on the application of the least squares method to analyze the nature of the relationship between two variables and to quantify the effect of explanatory variables on the variable. The quantification of the impact of monetary policy will be carried out using publicly available indicators, such as the repo rate, discount rate, amount of household loans, etc. The labor market will be mapped through indicators of unemployment and employment rate, economic activity rate, share of unemployed persons and others. The family area is represented by indicators of household income, savings and investment. The obtained results of the debugged models will then be tested with a set of commonly used tests and measurement methods. These tests will be performed using econometric-statistical software Gretl. The results of the best of them will then be described in the text of the empirical analysis.
