Intercultural workers and their participation in the social integration of immigrants in the city of Brno

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá náplní práce interkulturních pracovníků, jejichž snahou je začlenění imigrantů do majoritní společnosti. Interkulturní pracovníci pomáhají imigrantům se záležitostmi běžného života, jako je například návštěva lékaře, doprovod do pedagogicko – psychologické poradny, tlumočení, pomoc se záležitostmi týkající se vzdělávání apod., a tím jim dopomáhají k integraci do většinové společnosti. Teoretická část práce pojednává obecně o ekonomické migraci, dále se zabývá statistickými údaji o imigrantech ve městě Brně, rozebírá integraci migrantů do hostitelské společnosti, jsou zde zmíněny integrační politiky, jak České republiky, tak i města Brna, a v neposlední řadě informuje o integračních pracovnících ve městě Brně. V praktické části práce jsou rozebírány oblasti podpory od interkulturních pracovníků, dále problémy a bariéry, které se vyskytují v práci interkulturních pracovníků, okolnosti vzniku konceptu interkulturních pracovníků a také formy podpory pro interkulturní pracovníky.

Abstract:

Thesis deals with the scope of work of intercultural workers, who trying to integrate immigrants into the majority society. Intercultural workers help to immigrants with a matter of everyday life, such as visit by the doctor, accompaniment to Educational and Psychological Counselling, interpretation, assistance with matters relating to education and others, and thus help to integrate them into the majority society. The teoretical part of thesis deals with economical migration general, then statistical data about immigrants in the city of Brno, integration migrants to the host society, integration policies of both the Czech Republic and the city of Brno and finally integration workers in the city of Brno. The practical part of thesis deals with areas of support from intercultural workers, problems and barriers, that occur in the work of intercultural workers, circumstances of the origin of the concept of intercultural workers and finally forms of support for interculutral workers.
