Abstract:

Tato magisterská práce se zabývá specifickými výrazy vzniklými v souvislosti s nacistickým útlakem v letech 1939–1945 a tím, jak jim dnešní mladá generace rozumí. Výrazy jsme zjistili z prací, které se jazykem této doby zabývají. Při vlastním výzkumu jsme vybrali padesát slov, která se užívala v koncentračních táborech a čtyřicet slov odboje domácího i zahraničního. Nejprve jsme zjistili, co z těchto výrazů postihují nové slovníky spisovného jazyka a co eventuálně zachytily vybrané dnešní slovníky slov nespisovných. Výrazivo koncentračních táborů se v obou typech slovníků téměř nevyskytuje, což ukazuje, že zkoumané výrazy jsou v dnešní společnosti zapadlé a v materiálu, z nichž slovníky čerpaly, minimálně doložené. Slova odboje jsou doložena ještě méně. To nám ukazuje, jak moc tyto výrazy za 75 let od konce války vymizely. Při vlastním výzkumu jsme pracovali v sociolingvistice často užívanou metodou online dotazníkového šetření. Specializovaný dotazník obsahoval 40 slov. Výzkum se soustředil na zjištění, do jaké míry jsou zvolené výrazy srozumitelné mladé generaci. Obsahoval slova pro jiné kontexty zcela neznámá, slova ve sledovaném kontextu málo známá a existující i mimo něj v jiném významu a nakonec slova i dnes existující, u nichž význam spjatý s koncentračními tábory a odbojem už mohl vymizet. Ptali jsme se na jejich význam, ale také nato, kde by se s nimi mohli respondenti setkat. Ukázalo se, že výrazy většinou opravdu z povědomí mladé generace zmizely. Domníváme se, že přetržení kontinuity slov je odrazem toho, že velmi negativní zkušenosti jsou vytěsňovány z paměti mluvčích, a s tím mizí i příslušná slova.

Abstract:

This Master’s thesis deals with specific expressions that were created in connection with Nazi oppression between the years 1939-1945, and with the way today’s young generation understands them. We got the expressions from works that deal with the language of that time. In our own research we chose fifty words that had been used in concentration camps and forty words of the resistance movement – domestic as well as foreign resistance. At first, we found out which of these expressions are to be found in new dictionaries of standard language and which expressions have eventually been entered into dictionaries of non-standard language. The expressions from concentration camps are hardly to be found in both types of dictionaries which implies that the expressions studied are almost unused in today's society and minimally documented in the material from which the dictionaries drew. The words of resistance are documented even less. This indicates that most of the expressions have disappeared over the last 75 years, since the end of the war. In our research we have applied the online survey method which is often used in sociolinguistics. The specialized questionnaire contained forty words. The research focused on finding out the extent to which the chosen terms are comprehensible to the young generation. It included words that are fully unknown in other contexts, words that are little known in the analysed context but can exist outside of this context and have different meaning. And finally, the existing words whose meaning related to concentration camps and resistance has disappeared from people’s awareness. Not only did we ask the respondents whether they knew the meaning, we also inquired about where they encountered those words. It turned out that most of the expressions have really disappeared from the young generation’s awareness. We believe that breaking the continuity of words reflects the fact that negative experiences are crowded out of speakers' memories, and with that the words disappear.
