Impacts of the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Australia for the Czech agriculture and food industry

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá Dohodou o volném obchodu mezi Evropskou unií a Austrálií a jejími možnými dopady na sektor zemědělství a potravinářství v České republice. Dohoda o volném obchodu mezi oběma stranami by měla liberalizovat vzájemný zahraniční obchod a otevřít tak českým podnikům nový trh, stejně tak jako se australským podnikům otevře ten evropský. Cílem této práce je vyhodnocení potenciálních příležitostí a rizik plynoucích z této projednávané Dohody pro český agrární sektor. Úvodní část práce je zaměřena na teorie zahraničního obchodu a obchodních politik. Analytická část práce pak hodnotí vývojové tendence a dynamiku celého a agrárního zahraničního obchodu mezi Evropskou unií a Austrálií a později také mezi samotnou Austrálií a samotnou Českou republikou. Pro metodický postup řešení byly použity klasické nástroje analýzy zahraničního obchodu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Australia and its possible impact on the agricultural and food sector in the Czech Republic. The free trade agreement between the two parties should liberalise mutual foreign trade and open up a new market for Czech businesses, just as it will open up the European market for Australian businesses. The aim of this thesis is to assess the potential opportunities and risks arising from this pending Agreement for the Czech agrarian sector. The introductory part of the thesis focuses on theories of foreign trade and trade policies. The analytical part of the thesis then assesses the development tendencies and dynamics of total and agrarian foreign trade between the European Union and Australia and later also between Australia and the Czech Republic itself. For the methodological procedure of the solution, classical tools of foreign trade analysis were used.
