Nurses' awareness about the care of the patient with tracheostomy cannula in intensive care

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je informovanost sester v péči o pacienta s tracheostomickou kanylou v intenzivní péči. Cílem práce je porovnat úroveň informovanosti sester v závislosti na kvalifikačním vzdělání, délce praxe, vlivu specializace, typu ošetřovatelské jednotky a dále bylo zohledněno, zda měly sestry vypracovaný klinicky doporučený postup k péči o tracheostomickou kanylu na daném pracovišti. Pro diplomovou práci byl zvolen kvantitativní design. Data k výzkumnému šetření byla sbíraná prostřednictvím nestandardizovaného dotazníku. Respondenty byly sestry pracující v intenzivní péči. Vyhodnocená data prokázala statisticky významnou závislost mezi typem ošetřovatelské jednotky a míru informovanosti sester. Ze zhodnocených dat diplomové práce je zřejmé, že sestry mají v určitých oblastech dané problematiky nedostatečné znalosti. Jako výstup diplomové práce byl vytvořen edukační leták, určený pro sestry pracující v intenzivní péči a starající se o pacienty s tracheostomickou kanylou.

Abstract:

The topic of the diploma thesis is the nurses' awareness about the care of the patients with tracheostomy cannula in intensive care. The aim of the work is to compare the level of knowledge of nurses depending on qualification, length of practice, influence of specialization, type of nursing unit and it was also taken into account whether nurses had developed a clinically recommended procedure for tracheostomy cannula care in their the workplace. Quantitative design was chosen for the diploma thesis. Data for the research survey were collected through a non- standardized questionnaire. The respondents were nurses working in intensive care. The evaluated data showed a statistically significant dependency between the type of a nursing unit and the level of awareness. The evaluated data of the diploma thesis clearly show that the nurses have insufficient knowledge in certain areas. As an output of the diploma thesis, an educational leaflet was created for nurses working in intensive care and caring for patients with a tracheostomy cannula.
