Child s game and a toy in the life of preschool age children

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je hra a hračka v životě dítěte předškolního věku. Teoretická část shrnuje dosavadní poznatky o hře a hračce uváděné v odborné literatuře. Je zde zmíněn historický vývoj názorů na hru od starověku až po současnost. Hra je charakterizována prostřednictvím jejích základních znaků a funkcí, které plní, přičemž jsou uvedeny i některé základní typologie her. Pozornost je věnována zejména dítěti předškolního věku, hrám, které jsou pro tento věk typické a také uplatnění hry v mateřských školách. Není opomenut ani historický vývoj hračky a její význam. Předmětem empirické části je kvalitativně orientovaný výzkum s cílem analyzovat činnosti dětí předškolního věku v rámci spontánní hry s důrazem na popis jednotlivých typů her, které se v jejich činnosti objevují. Sběr dat probíhal metodou terénního zápisu, založeného na pozorování spontánní hry tří vybraných dětí v mateřské škole. Práce poukazuje na význam hry pro děti předškolního věku a zároveň podněcuje k dalším úvahám na toto téma.

Abstract:

The topic of thesis is a child’s game and a toy in the life of preschool age children. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge about the child’s game and toy presented in the professional literature. The historical progress of popular mood on the child’s game starting from antiquity and continuing to the present is mentioned here too. The child’s game is characterized by means of its basic features and functions they perform, some basic types of child’s games are illustrated. Main focus is given to the child of preschool age and child’s games that are typical for this age and also usage of child’s games in kindergartens. Historical progress of toys and its importance is not forgotten. The object of the empirical part is qualitatively oriented research to analyze the activities of preschool age children in the context of spontaneous child’s games with an accent on the characteristics of the game types that appear in their activities. Data collection was proceeding by field-registration method based on observation of spontaneous child’s game of three selected children in the kindergarten. The thesis pointed out the importance of child’s game for preschool age children on the other hand initiates for further reflection to this issue.
