Digital technology in the lives of preschoolers from parents' perspectives

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce s názvem „Digitální technologie v životě předškoláků pohledem rodičů“ pojednává o problematice přístupu rodičů v souvislosti se zásahem moderních technologií, jako je televize, počítač, tablet a jiné, do života těch nejmenších z nás – dětí předškolního věku. Cílem této teoreticko-empirické práce je popsat a vysvětlit role technologií v předškolním období se zaměřením na rodinné prostředí. Teoretická část je zpracována na základě dostupné české i cizojazyčné literatury a uvádí čtenáře do řešené problematiky charakterizováním soudobých konceptů dnešní společnosti počínaje a využíváním konkrétních digitálních technologií předškoláky konče. Empirická část nejprve popisuje zvolenou kvalitativní výzkumnou metodologii, jejíž součástí je mimo jiné i stanovení výzkumné otázky, volba výzkumného designu, rozhodnutí o vzorku a metodě sběru dat. Na metodologickou část plynule navazují výsledky a interpretace získaných dat, které jsou v této magisterské diplomové práci stěžejní.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis named "Digital technology in the lives of preschoolers from parents' perspectives" deal with the issue of approach of parents in relation to the intervention of modern technologies, such as television, computer, tablet and other, in life of the smallest of us - children of preschool age. The aim of this theoretical and empirical work is to describe and explain the role of technology in the preschool period with focus on family environment. The theoretical part is based on available czech and foreign literature and introduces the discussed issue by describing the contemporary concepts of today's society at the beginning and the use of specific digital technologies by preschoolers at the end. The empirical part starts with description of the chosen qualitative research methodology, which includes among other determination of research question, choice of research design, decision of sample and data collection method. The methodological part is followed by the results and interpretation of the collected data obtained, which is crucial for this thesis.
