Oligarchization of the Czech media landscape and the influence on media content

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na oligarchizaci české mediální krajiny a vliv na mediální obsahy. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. V první části jsem si vymezila definici oligarchie, kterou jsem používala po celou dobu své práce. Zaměřila jsem se také na vývoj oligarchie, na titulky, na média a na nastolování agendy. V metodologické části práce jsem si stanovila metodu, podle které jsem poté analyzovala titulky. Druhou částí práce je již samotná analýza. V analytické části jsem představila oligarchy Daniela Křetínského a Andreje Babiša a mediálního magnáta Zdeňka Bakalu. Poté jsem analyzoval titulky z internetových serverů Info.cz, iDNES.cz a Aktuálně.cz. Cílem mé bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, v čem se liší výpovědní hodnota titulků vybraných médií na téma Donalda Trumpa a jeho environmentální politiky v letech 2017-2020. Výpovědní hodnotou jsou myšleny konkrétní výroky a stylistika zkoumaných titulků. Respektive jde o jejich tonalitu, a to, jak působí na čtenáře ve vztahu k danému tématu. Analýza ukazuje, že Daniel Křetínský nepropaguje své zájmy na toto téma prostřednictvím Info.cz. Naopak psal tento server na toto téma titulky s největší tonalitou. Analýza nám také ukázala, že nejnižší počet titulků s nejvyšším počtem titulků s neutrální tonalitou zveřejnil internetový server iDNES.cz. Internetový server Aktuálně.cz zabýval tématem Donalda Trumpa a jeho environmentální politiky nejvíce. V poměru k počtu publikovaných titulků se nejvíce objevily titulky s neutrální tonalitou.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the oligarchization of the Czech media landscape and the influence on media content. The work is divided into two parts. In the first part I defined the definition of oligarchy, which I used during my whole thesis. I also focused on the development of oligarchy, on headlines, on media and on agenda-setting. In the first part is also included the methodology, in which I determined the method, according to which I then analyzed the headlines. The second part of the work is the analysis itself. In the analytical part, I introduced the oligarchs Daniel Křetínský and Andrej Babiš and media tycoon Zdeněk Bakala. I then analyzed headlines from their internet servers Info.cz, iDNES.cz and Aktuálně.cz. The aim of my bachelor's thesis was to find out how the informative value of the headlines of selected media differs on the topic of Donald Trump and his environmental policy in the years 2017-2020. The informative value means specific statements and stylistics of the examined headlines. Respectively, it is about their tonality, and how it affects the reader in relation to the topic. The analysis shows that Daniel Křetínský does not promote his interests on this topic through Info.cz. On the contrary, it was this server that wrote the most negative headlines on this topic. The analysis also showed us that the lowest frequency of headlines and at the same time the highest frequency of headlines with neutral tonality was published by the internet server iDNES.cz. The Internet server Aktuálně.cz covered the topic of Donald Trump and his environmental policy the most.
