Development of regulation of banking sector after 2008 - new requirements for governance and capital adequacy of banks

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje problematice bankovní regulace a jejího vývoje od roku 2008 se zaměřením na vývoj v České republice a v Evropě. Cílem práce je poskytnout ucelený přehled aktuálního legislativního a regulatorního vývoje požadavků na správu a řízení bank. Vedlejším cílem k hlavnímu cíli je shrnout dostupnou literaturu a zároveň blíže zdokumentovat aktuální výzvy regulace a její budoucí vývoj. Druhým cílem je srovnání vývoje po roce 2008 v České republice, v eurozóně a ve Spojených státech amerických. Při práci je využita metoda narativní analýzy, kdy je na základě retrospektivní rešerše dostupné odborné literatury sestaven chronologický přehled vývoje regulace a zároveň srovnání mezi vývojem v České republice, eurozóně a USA. Výsledky rešerše jsou podrobeny kritické diskuzi.

Abstract:

The thesis discusses the topic of banking regulation and its development since 208 with a focus on development in the Czech Republic and Europe. The goal of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current legislative and regulatory development of requirements for management and governance of banks. A side goal of the main goal is to summarize the available literature and document the current challenges of the regulations and its future development. The second goal is to compare the development after the year 2008 in the Czech Republic, the Eurozone and the United states of America. The thesis uses the method of narrative analysis, where based on retrospective research of available science literature, a chronological overview of the development of regulation and a comparison of the development in the Czech Republic, the Eurozone and the USA are prepared. The research outcome is then subject of critical discussion.
