Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce zkoumá motivy a přípravu žáků středních škol na zkoušku C1 Advanced. Čerpá z dat získaných ze 13 rozhovorů, které byly analyzovány metodami zakotvené teorie. Práce popisuje zkušenosti žáků, které vedou k jejich úspěšnému složení této zkoušky, přičemž zohledňuje jak kontext žáků, tak jejich vnitřní procesy. Konkrétněji se práce zabývá například možností nahrazení anglické části maturitní zkoušky zkouškou C1 Advanced nebo zkušenostmi žáků s jednotlivými způsoby přípravy.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis explores motives and ways of preparation of ‘C1 Advanced’ exam takers among upper secondary school students. It draws on data from 13 interviews which were analysed with grounded theory methods. The thesis gives an account of the experiences which lead the students to a successful completion of the ‘C1 Advanced’. Focus is given to the students’ context as well as their internal processes, and specific issues such as the possibility to have the Maturita exempted by the ‘C1 Advanced’, or the students’ experiences with different preparatory resources are taken into account.
