Motivation and Stimulation of Volunteers in Student Organization

Abstract:

Cílem této magisterské diplomové práce je zjistit, jak zvýšit motivaci dobrovolníků v konkrétní studentské organizaci – Mezinárodním studentském klubu, o. s. – k převzetí odpovědnosti za řízení a celkový chod organizace. V teoretické části práce jsou vyjasněny základní pojmy a koncepty z oblasti lidské motivace a motivace pracovního jednání a vhodné nástroje stimulace motivace v organizaci. Dále jsou uvedeny nejvýznamnější teorie pracovní motivace a souhrnný teoretický model motivace. V neposlední řadě také představuji teorie dobrovolnictví, dobrovolnický management a specifika studentské organizace. V metodologické části je popsána vybraná výzkumná metoda porozumění a kvalitativní výzkumná strategie. Použitým výzkumným nástrojem je analýza dokumentů a polostandardizovaný rozhovor s dobrovolníky a HR Managerem organizace. V empirické části práce prezentuji výsledky výzkumu a v závěru formuluji konkrétní doporučení pro HRM organizace.

Abstract:

Aim of this Master’s thesis is to find out how to increase motivation of volunteers in a particular student organization – International Student Club – to take responsibility for the management and overall operations of the organization. The theoretical part of the thesis clarifies basic terms and concepts in the field of human motivation and work motivation and suitable stimulation tools in organization. Furthermore, the most relevant work motivation theories and summarizing theoretical model of motivation are introduced. In addition, theories of volunteering, volunteer management and the specifics of student organizations are presented. Methodological part describes a selected research method of understanding and a qualitative research strategy. Used research tool is analysis of documents and semi-structured interviews with volunteers and the HR Manager of the organization. Empirical part presents results of the research and in conclusion I formulate specific recommendations for HRM of the organization.
