The use of dynamic elastomeric fabric orthosis in comprehensive therapy to a child with the hypotonic form of cerebral palsy

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce zpracovává problematiku dynamické lykrové ortézy a její využití v rámci komplexní terapie dítěte s hypotonickou formou dětské mozkové obrny. Cílem této práce je shrnout teoretické poznatky o dětské mozkové obrně a poukázat na možnosti ovlivnění svalového tonu dítěte a následně terapie při aplikaci ortézy. Probandkou byla 9-ti letá dívka s hypotonickou formou DMO. Práce je členěna na teoretickou, speciální a praktickou část. Analýza vlivu ortézy proběhla metodou pozorování a fotodokumentace během terapie s dívkou. Šetření bylo provedeno v pěti různých pozicích, ve kterých je terapie prováděna nejčastěji. Vyšlo najevo, že ortéza pomáhá dívce tonizovat svalstvo, zejména v oblasti trupu. Dochází také ke stabilizaci trupu a tím usnadnění udržení postury. Důležité je zmínit, že ortéza nehraje roli pouze při pohybové terapii, ale plní také funkci socializační a psychologickou.

Abstract:

Submitted thesis deals with the issue of dynamic elastomeric fabric orthosis and its use in comprehensive therapy to a child with hypotonic form of cerebral palsy. The aim of this thesis is to sum up theoretical knowledge about cerebral palsy and to point out the options how to affect the muscle tone and subsequently the therapy to a child by the application of the orthosis. The proband was 9 years old girl with hypotonic form of cerebral palsy. The thesis is divided into three major parts - theoretical, special and practical. The analysis of the orthosis impact is based on the observation and photodocumentation during the therapy with the girl. The investigation was made in five different positions, in which is the therapy made most often. It turned out, that the orthosis helps to increase the muscle tone of the girl, especially in the body core area. It also comes to stabilization of the body core and thanks to this to make holding the posture easier. It is important to mention, that the orthosis matters during not only the movement therapy, but also helps with socialisation and in psychological field.
