Aspekty a paradoxy v poezii Sylvie Plathové

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o rozporuplné povaze poetického díla Sylvie Plathové. V prvé řadě se snaží vykreslit povahu jejího básnického vývoje. Vhled do jejího díla je zprostředkován interpretacemi básní. Zaměřuje se na motivy a symboliku, která je pro poezii Sylvie Plathové typická a snaží se postihnout prvky, které ji odlišují od ostatních konfesijních básníků. Všímá si vlivu jiných básníků na její poezii. Práce také seznamuje čtenáře s tím, jak Plathová sama vnímala vlastní tvorbu. Poukazuje se především na její problém s hledáním inspirace a na její téměř existenciální sepětí s tvorbou. Její problémy s psaním jsou podávány v širším kontextu její prozaické tvorby

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the inconsistent nature of Sylvia Plath?s poetry. Firstly, it tries to explore her poetic development which is mainly illustrated on several interpretations of her poems. The thesis further focuses on important motifs and symbolism typical for Plath?s poetry. It also pays attention to features that distinguish her poetry from poetry of other confessional poets and marks the influence of other poets upon her poetry. The thesis moreover discusses how Plath herself reflected her own writing. It deals with her constant struggle with the lack of inspiration and with her existential commitment to her writing. Her writing problems are discussed in a broader context of her prosaic work
