Circular economy on the example of plastic recycling line

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je vysvětlit podstatu konceptu cirkulární ekonomiky na příkladu recyklační linky plastů společnosti SUEZ CZ a.s. Práce se také zaměřuje na prosazování konceptu prevence vytváření odpadů, zvyšování efektivnosti při nakládání s přírodními zdroji a přispívá k hlubší osvětě v tématu cirkulární ekonomiky v reakci na letošní představení Národního plánu obnovy v České republice. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je detailněji popsán aktuální stav životního prostředí, definice lineární ekonomiky včetně jejích značných bariér a definice ekonomiky cirkulární. V praktické části je představena společnost SUEZ CZ a.s. a popsány její technologie z odpadového hospodářství. Rovněž je zde provedena analýza recyklační linky v Němčicích nad Hanou v souvislosti s konceptem cirkulární ekonomiky. V neposlední řadě jsou zde popsány dopady na recyklační linku skrze pozastavení odběru plastového odpadu ze strany Číny v roce 2018 a také procesu zavádění odpadové legislativy v České republice.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to explain the essence of the concept of the circular economy in the example of the plastic recycling line of SUEZ CZ a.s. The work also focuses on promoting the concept of waste prevention, increasing efficiency in the management of natural resources, and contributing to a deeper awareness on the circular economy in response to this year's presentation of the National Recovery Plan in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical section, the current state of the environment, the definition of a linear economy, including its considerable barriers, and the definition of a circular economy are described in more detail. In practical part, SUEZ CZ a.s. is presented and its technologies from waste management are described. There is also an analysis of the recycling line in Nemčice nad Hanou in relation to the concept of the circular economy. Finally, the impacts on the recycling line through China's suspension of plastic waste collection in 2018, as well as the process of introducing waste legislation in the Czech Republic, are described.
