The project cycle of the Czech Republic´s international development cooperation and its application in a case study project

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je podat ucelenou charakteristiku projektového cyklu zahraniční rozvojové spolupráce České republiky a zaměřit se na otázku jeho praktického provedení v případě dotace. Teoretická část práce charakterizuje politiku zahraniční rozvojové spolupráce České republiky a popisuje teorii jejího projektového cyklu. Postupně rozebírá jeho jednotlivé fáze, vysvětluje jejich účel, stanovuje role všech zúčastněných aktérů a popisuje podobu požadované projektové dokumentace. V rámci praktické části práce je řešena případová studie. Jejím předmětem je konkrétní rozvojový projekt, který prošel všemi fázemi projektového cyklu. Případová studie popisuje projekt na základě analýzy jeho projektové dokumentace, porovnává podobu projektového cyklu v jeho praktickém využití s popsanou teorií a navrhuje možnosti zefektivnění průběhu projektového cyklu při realizaci příštích rozvojových intervencí.

Abstract:

The aim of the present thesis is to draw a complex picture of the project cycle in the international development cooperation of the Czech Republic and to focus on the matter of the practical implementation of the project cycle in the case of a grant. The theoretical part of the thesis studies the character of the foreign development cooperation policy of the Czech Republic and describes the theory of its project cycle. The thesis describes the individual phases of the project cycle, explains their purpose, notices the roles of all stakeholders and describes the required project documentation. The practical part of the thesis deals with a particular case study. The study presents a description of the project based of an analysis of its project documentation, compares the form of the project cycle implementation with the theory described in the first part and suggests solutions leading to increasing the project cycle's effectiveness in the implementation of future development interventions.
