The growth potential of the economy of the Ústí region

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá růstovým potenciálem ekonomiky Ústeckého kraje ve sledovaném období od roku 2007 do roku 2022. Cílem práce je pomocí analýzy vybraných faktorů růstu zjistit růstový potenciál ekonomiky vybraného regionu, kterým je Ústecký kraj a na základě toho zhodnotit, zda se v daném regionu vyplatí podnikat. V teoretické části je představena problematika ekonomického růstu, ale také situace a procesy s ním spojené. Následně jsou představeny jednotlivé faktory ekonomického růstu, ale také růstové teorie a matematické modely, které považují některé faktory za rozhodující. V metodické části je zvolen jeden z modelů růstu a také představeny metody použité v aplikační části. Aplikační část pak aplikuje jednotlivé metody a analyzuje vybrané faktory růstu Ústeckého kraje a poté je porovnává s Karlovarským krajem, který byl vybrán jako konkurenční kraj, ale také s průměrem České republiky. Výsledky analýzy pak napomohou k vyhodnocení růstového potenciálu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the growth potential of the economy of the Ústí nad Labem Region in the period from 2007 to 2022. The aim of the thesis is to determine the growth potential of the economy of the selected region, which is the Ústí region, by analysing selected growth factors and to assess whether it is worth doing business in the region. In the theoretical part, the issue of economic growth is presented, as well as the situation and processes associated with it. Subsequently, individual factors of economic growth are presented, as well as growth theories and mathematical models that consider certain factors as decisive. In the methodological part, one of the growth models is chosen and the methods used in the application part are also presented. The application part then applies each method and analyses the selected growth factors of the Ústí region and then compares them with the Karlovy Vary region, which was selected as a rival region, but also with the average of the Czech Republic. The results of the analysis will then help to evaluate the growth potential.
