Partisanships in Ghana

Abstract:

Politické strany jsou integrální součástí zastupitelského modelu demokracie a jejich výzkum tak představuje jedno ze základních témat politologického bádání. To se však v případě české odborné literatury omezuje především na domácí scénu, nanejvýše pak na scénu zahraniční, pokud je nám blízká v geografickém či kulturně-civilizačním slova smyslu. Tato práce se naopak zaměřuje na v české literatuře dosud nepropracovanou problematiku afrického stranictví na příkladu (čtvrté) Ghanské republiky, v níž dochází od 90. let 20. století ke konsolidaci vícestranického systému. V rámci výše uvedeného tématu hodlá práce analyzovat vybrané aspekty ghanského stranictví (jako jsou leadership, stranická struktura, výběr kandidátů či financování), které jsou doplněny o deskripci základních rysů ghanského politického a volebního systému, jež poslouží coby kontextuální rámec. Základní výzkumnou metodou práce je analýza, která se zaměřuje na tematickou literaturu a stranické materiály, doplněná komparací a případně i dotazníkovým šetřením.

Abstract:

Political parties are an integral part of representative democracy and a research of the political parties thus represents one of the basic themes for political scientists. In a case of Czech scholarly literature, however, the research focuses just in domestic political scene or in a foreign scene at most, if the foreign scene is close in geographic or culture-civilization sense.This diploma dissertation focuses contrary in problems of African political partisanship in case of Ghana’s Fourth Republic where a multi-party system is consolidating from 1990’s. Within the frame of this theme the paper is analyzing the chosen aspects of Ghanian partisanship such as leadership, structure of political parties, candidate selection or funding of political parties and supplements them with a description of basic features of Ghanian political and electoral system that serve as contextual framework of the paper. The primary research method is an analysis focused in thematic literature and party documents, completed by comparison and interviews.
