Foreign Language Teaching Methods in Practice

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Metodické koncepce ve výuce cizích jazyků v praxi se skládá ze dvou stěžejních částí, jimiž jsou teoretická a praktická část. Teoretická část obsahuje charakteristiku, klasifikaci a popis jednotlivých vyučovacích metod. Dále je zde pojednáno o rakouském školském systému. V závěrečné kapitole teoretické části se nachází inventář vyučovacích metod cizího jazyka ke čtyřem jazykovým dovednostem čtení, psaní, poslech, mluvení. V praktické části vycházím z výsledků dat zjištěných na základě kvalitativního výzkumu. Předmětem zkoumání je stanovení nejpoužívanějších vyučovacích metod v jednotlivých jazykových dovednostech v České republice na 2. stupni základní školy v Kyjově a v Rakousku na 2. stupni hlavní školy (Hauptschule) v Linci. Cílem diplomové práce je deskripce nejpoužívanějších vyučovacích metod ve výuce cizích jazyků a jejich komparace mezi českou a rakouskou školou v jednotlivých oblastech jazykových dovedností (poslech, čtení, mluvení, psaní).

Abstract:

The diploma thesis Second Language Teaching Methods in Practice consists of two main parts, the practical and the theoretical one. The theoretical part contains the classification and description of individual teaching methods. Then it deals with the Austrian educational system. The final chapter of the theoretical part enumerates the teaching methods pertinent to the four language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. The practical part draws on the analysis of the data gathered during the qualitative research. The subject matter is the identification of the most frequent teaching methods for individual language skills in the Czech Republic in the second stage of the basic school and in Austria in the second stage of the Hauptschule in Linz. The aim of the thesis is to give an account of the teaching methods most used in teaching a second language and compare the situation in individual language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) in these two countries.
