Business Intelligence and the risks of its implementation

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou rizik spojených s implementací systému Business Intelligence (BI) v podnikovém prostředí. Skrze přezkoumání literatury a aktuálních studií jsou identifikovány klíčové faktory, které ovlivňují úspěšnost nasazení BI. Dále se práce věnuje možnostem, jakým mohou organizace tyto rizika minimalizovat a zvýšit tak hodnotu BI řešení pro své užití. Představuje také metodiku pro zajištění efektivního využití dat, zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti a podpory rozhodování na základě dat. Následná diskuse se opírá o výzkumy, které hodnotí pozitivní přínosy BI na exportní výkonnost a manažerské rozhodování a nabízí porovnání s předchozími modely zpracování a analýzy dat. Závěry práce podtrhují důležitost komplexního přístupu k plánování, zavedení a správě BI systémů jako nástroje pro zlepšení obchodní výkonnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the analysis of risks associated with the implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) in the corporate environment. Through a review of literature and recent studies, key factors that influence the success of BI deployment are identified. Furthermore, the paper explores ways in which organizations can minimize these risks and increase the value of BI solutions for their use. It also presents a methodology for ensuring effective use of data, increasing competitiveness, and supporting data-driven decision-making. The subsequent discussion draws on research that evaluates the positive benefits of BI on export performance and managerial decision-making and offers comparisons with previous models of data processing and analysis. The paper's conclusions underline the importance of a comprehensive approach to planning, implementing, and managing BI systems as a tool for improving business performance.
