Forensic Handwriting Examination

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá forenzním zkoumáním ručního písma. Cílem autorky je podat ucelený souhrn elementárních poznatků v oboru forenzního zkoumání ručního písma a podpisu a experimentálně ověřit některé základní premisy oboru a vyhodnotit působení některých faktorů, které ovlivňují rukopis a ručně psaný podpis. V práci je v prvotních kapitolách pojednáno o historickém vývoji písma, psacích materiálů a náčiní a o historii oboru písmoznalectví od antiky po současnost. Dále autorka popisuje fyziologické, psychologické a biologické mechanizmy vzniku rukopisu a podpisu a zabývá se vlivem vnitřních a vnějších faktorů na ručně psané písmo i na podpis. Jsou vysvětleny právní aspekty, forenzní zásady a specifika písmoznaleckého zkoumání a stěžejní část práce se zabývá současnými metodami zkoumání ručního písma, charakteristice podpisů a forenznímu zkoumání jejich pravosti. V praktické části jsou vyhodnoceny experimenty zkoumající vlivy vnějších faktorů na ruční písmo a čtyřletý výzkum zabývající se variabilitou podpisu v čase.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the forensic handwriting examination. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive summary of elementary knowledge in the field of forensic examination of handwriting and signature, and, based on several experiments, to verify the fundamental premises of handwriting and evaluate the impact of some factors affecting handwriting and handwritten signature. In the first chapters, the thesis deals with the historical development of writing, with writing materials and tools, and the history of forensic handwriting examination from the ancient to the present time. The author describes physiological, psychological and biological mechanisms of the origins of manuscript and signature, and deals with the influence of internal and external factors on the handwriting and signature. The thesis explains legal aspects, forensic principles and specifics of handwriting analysis. The main part of the thesis is focused on current methods of handwriting examination, signature characteristics and forensic investigation of their authenticity. In its experimental part, the author describes the influence of specific external factors on the handwriting, evaluating her four-year research of the variability of signature over time.
