In my thesis, I discuss Martin Walser's novels written in the 1990s as well as his writings for newspapers and magazines from the sixties to the nineties. Walser's work is analysed using two essential topics he followed in that period. One of these topics is the way the post-war West German society coped with its national socialist past.
