The Influence of the Chosen Industrial Company on the Regional Labour Market in Teplice Region.

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zhodnotit dopad vybraného průmyslového podniku na regionální trh práce okresu Teplice. Zkoumaným podnikem je společnost AGC Flat Glass Czech, která je strategickým zaměstnavatelem v okresu Teplice. Bakalářská práce vyčísluje vliv samotného podniku, respektive i celého konsolidačního celku, na regionální trh práce pomocí metody korelace, kdy hodnotí vliv podniku od roku 2000, respektive 2004 dle dostupnosti dat. Také popisuje hypotetickou situaci, kdy by nebyla provedena lokalizace podniku do regionu a porovnává rozdíly v podílech nezaměstnanosti. Bakalářská práce rovněž obsahuje stručný přehled vybraných lokalizačních teorií včetně klíčových lokalizačních faktorů, které nejvíce ovlivňují rozhodování při lokalizaci podniku. Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na přímé zahraniční investice a investiční pobídky, jelikož je podnik zahraniční akvizicí belgického koncernu a čerpá investiční pobídky. Provedené analýzy neprokázaly závislost mezi počtem zaměstnanců podniků AGC Flat Glass Czech a počtem dosažitelných uchazečů o zaměstnání, přestože je stabilním zaměstnavatelem v regionu. Naopak byla prokázána závislost mezi zaměstnanci konsolidačního celku AGC Flat Glass Czech a počtem dosažitelných uchazečů o zaměstnání v okresu Teplice. Také byla prokázána závislost mezi rozdílem stavu přímých zahraničních investic a počtem dosažitelných uchazečů o zaměstnání.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the influence of the chosen industrial company on the regional labour market in Teplice region. The analysed company is AGC Flat Glass Czech because it is a strategic employer in the region Teplice. The bachelor thesis also measures the influence of the company, respectively the influence of the company and its daughter companies, on the labour market using the correlation method. The correlation method is used for years since 2000 respectively 2004, depending on the data accessibility. The thesis also describes a hypothetical situation when the location of the company would not happen to the region and compares the change in unemployment rates. The bachelor thesis also contains brief overview of chosen location theories including key location factors which influence the location deciding the most. The bachelor thesis focuses on foreign direct investment and investment incentives because the company is an acquisition of the Belgian holding and uses investment incentives. The bachelor thesis did not find any relationship between the number of employees in the company and the amount of reachable unemployed people in the region Teplice, although the company is a stable employer in the region. On the other hand the evidence shows correlation between the number of employees in the consolidation unit AGC Flat Glass Czech and number of reachable unemployed people in the region Teplice. The thesis also found correlation between reachable unemployed people in the region and the differences of the total values throughout the years.
