Abstract:
The Vietnam War (also known as the Second Indochina War) was an armed military conflict waged on the territory of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1955 until 1975. By conducting ground war in South Vietnam, air war in North Vietnam, and riverine war in the Mekong river delta, the United States tried to prevent the spread of Communism in the Pro-American Republic of Vietnam.
