Diakonie CCE and the Four Diaconal Values Project

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tematikou firemní kultury, firemními hodnotami a prací s lidmi. Zkoumá projekt organizace Diakonie ČCE „Diakonické hodnoty“, který byl realizován v letech 2018–2021. Cílem práce bylo zjištění, zda projekt splnil své cíle a jaký je jeho výsledek. Text obsahuje teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se dotýká problematiky firemní kultury a spíše okrajově společenské odpovědnosti firem a metodiky kvalitativního výzkumu. V praktické části osvětluje na základě historie české Diakonie a jejího ideového zakotvení zamýšlenou základní ideu projektu, jeho kořeny a smysl. Text zároveň zkoumá vznik projektu a způsob jeho řízení. Prostřednictvím metody kvalitativního výzkumu zjišťuje výsledky projektu. Výzkum přinesl odlišný výsledek oproti původní premisi autorky, která byla spíše skeptická k možnostem implementace tak subtilního fenoménu, jako jsou hodnoty a jejich skutečné přijetí zaměstnanci. Analýza řízení projektu pak přivedla autorku ke zjištěním o způsobu řízení projektu, který by bylo možno charakterizovat jako spíše intuitivní, organický než jako manažerský, racionální. Z toho vyplynula autorkou zformulovaná doporučení pro management organizace obsahující přijetí manažerských standardů zahrnujících nejen plánování projektů, ale i strategie jejich průběžného i závěrečného vyhodnocování, stanovení metrik a přiřazení konkrétních zodpovědností. V neposlední řadě autorku zaujal způsob vnitřní komunikace, pro který taktéž navrhuje částečnou změnu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the topic of corporate culture, corporate values, and working with people. It examines the "Deacon Values" Project by the Diakonie ČCE organization, which was implemented between 2018 and 2021. The thesis aimed to find out whether the project met its objectives and determine its result. It contains both theoretical and practical parts. The former addresses the issue of corporate culture and partially touches on corporate social responsibility as well as a qualitative research methodology. Based on the history of Czech Diakonia and its ideological anchorage, the practical part explains the intended basic idea of the project, its anchorage and its meaning. The text also examines the origins of the project and the way it was managed. Through a qualitative research method, it identifies the results of the project. The research produced a different result from the author's original premise, who was rather sceptical about the possibilities of implementing such a subtle phenomenon as values and their actual acceptance by employees. The analysis of project management then led the author to findings about a way of managing the project that could be characterised as intuitive and organic rather than managerial and rational. This led the author to formulate recommendations for the management of the organization, which included the adoption of managerial standards involving not only project planning, but also strategies for interim and final project evaluation, the establishment of metrics, and the assignment of specific responsibilities. Last but not least, the author is interested in the method of internal communication, for which she also proposes a partial change.
